The police have launched a prosecution against three people, suspecting them of preparing a murder-for-hire and illegal arming. The accused face 15 to 20 years in prison, or an exceptional sentence.
Jaroslav Ibehej, the spokesperson of the National Center against Organized Crime (NCOZ), informed about this on the website on Friday. The spokesman did not provide further information about the accused. According to the server iROZHLAS.cz and Radiožurnál, the case concerns an employee of the Supreme Audit Office who wanted to order the killing of her husband through an intermediary.
“According to our conclusions, the accused persons should have prepared the murder-for-hire of a person from a business environment in cooperation with each other, with the aim of obtaining a financial benefit for themselves. Two persons are being prosecuted in custody,” said Ibehej. According to him, the Municipal Prosecutor’s Office in Prague supervises the case.
Server i ROZHLAS.cz writes that the woman had been planning her husband’s murder since last summer. She therefore found an intermediary who, for a certain financial reward, was supposed to find the person who would carry out the murder. The trio then met in Prague for a coordination meeting, at which the woman allegedly handed over a deposit of 300,000 crowns. According to the server, she was ready to pay 1.5 million crowns for a murder-for-hire.
The Supreme Audit Office (SAO), where the woman worked until now, distances itself from the employee. According to SAO spokesperson Hana Kadečková, the police informed them about the investigation. “This suspicion has nothing to do with the performance of this person’s work, nor with the activities of the SAO,” Kadečková added, adding that she would not provide any further information on the matter. According to the server, the woman does not come to work.
