A 27-year-old man was seriously injured when he crossed a busy four-lane road in Uherské Hradiště. The driver of the Fabia did not respond in time to his incomprehensible shortening of the path outside the pedestrian crossing on Velehradská třída. At the same time, “Zebra” is only a few tens of meters away…
The accident happened shortly after half past three in the afternoon. “The fifty-five-year-old driver driving in the middle lane of the four-lane road in the direction of Staré Město did not react in time to the pedestrian’s doubts and a collision occurred. The man suffered serious injuries, with which he was taken by ambulance to the Tomáš Bata Regional Hospital in Zlín,” informed Radomír Šiška, spokesman for the Hradec Králové police. A breath test ruled out alcohol in the driver. The damage to the vehicle was preliminarily estimated at 80,000 crowns.
“Traffic police officers and criminal investigators continue to investigate the accident,” added Šiška.
