According to meteorologists, all forecast models predict significant warming at the end of the week. It will be associated with an influx of extremely warm air from the southwest.

“Weekend temperatures will be around 25 °C, on Sunday they could reach up to 27 °C locally, which is an absolute extreme for the beginning of April,” meteorologists stated and documented the expected temperatures with a picture of the ECMWF model prediction for Sunday afternoon.

According to meteorologists, such temperatures are 15 to 18 °C higher than the average for the years 1979 to 2010.

In addition, according to the current forecast, very high temperatures should also last into the beginning of next week.

It is not excluded that, similar to last Easter weekend, sand from the Sahara will appear in the atmosphere, whose concentrations in recent days exceeded the limits for the occurrence of dust particles and fundamentally worsened visibility.

The current extreme weather is also documented by the blossoming lilacs, which people also have due to the historical consequences associated with the beginning of May. This year, meteorologists pointed out that blooming lilacs appeared in Prague as early as March 21.

According to meteorologists in our territory, this March was the warmest March in the history of measurements, which goes back to 1961. The average temperature of 7 °C was 3.8 °C higher than the normal for the years 1991 to 2020. It was also 0.8 °C warmer than the warmest March of 2014 so far.
