PRAGUE – The city will extend Saturday operating hours at ten collection yards operated by Pražská služby. This change, which will come into effect from May, is intended to increase the comfort of the residents of the capital when disposing of waste. The opening hours will be extended by three hours in the summer season, until 6 p.m., and by one hour in the winter season, ending at 5 p.m. With this step, the operating hours of the collection yards on weekdays and at the weekend will be unified.

This change only applies to collection yards operated by Pražské služby. Eight collection yards in Prague are operated by private companies that were selected through a tender process. Here, too, an extension of the operating time is expected, which will be implemented when the contracts are re-tendered. The other two collection yards are expected to change their opening hours in 2025.
