The incident occurred in mid-February. A 26-year-old man and his 24-year-old girlfriend were walking through Rotava in the early evening and they met a car driven by the man’s 21-year-old ex-girlfriend and her 25-year-old friend.
“After a while, a 25-year-old woman got out of the car, took a baseball bat from the vehicle and walked towards the 24-year-old woman. At the same time, she should have insulted her vulgarly and threatened her with physical assault,” Kopřiva described.
The attack was prevented by a man who snatched the baseball bat from the threatening woman’s hands after a tug of war.
According to information from Novinek, the attacker wanted to stand up for her friend, who ended up without a boyfriend and, according to her, did not know how to take a proper stand on the matter and resolve it forcefully. “She wanted revenge for her,” said a woman familiar with the case. “For example, after breaking up with a friend, they couldn’t agree on who will keep the dog with them,” she noted.
The pair of women then left the scene. “Police officers from the Rotava district department informed a 25-year-old woman from Lokta of the suspicion of committing dangerous threats and disorderly conduct,” said Kopřiva, adding that there were no injuries or property damage during the incident. “If found guilty, the twenty-five-year-old woman faces a prison sentence of up to three years,” concluded the spokesperson.
