It seems that they have started to listen to the concerns of the residents of the Steck region, who have been protesting against lithium processing for about two years. According to the last decision, it will only be loaded in the drive to the town called Dukla, where the processing shaft was supposed to be, the mined ore will be loaded onto wagons here. The drain was supposed to be in the immediate vicinity of family houses, and there is a lot of construction in the town.
We took a lot of objections from both the mayor, the governor and the regional council, that the whole project affects the lives of the people in the riding area and the settlement of Dukla. We were looking for another location that would allow us to implement the project. We researched many of them, and in the end, we chose it as the most acceptable and economically meaningful location in Prunov. We fulfill that we are developing both the mechanical processing of ore and the chemical processing of lithium, said Ladislav Tpnek, chairman of the board and CEO of the company Geomet, which owns half of EZ by 51 percent.
It’s a turning point. For years, representatives of Geomet claimed that they selected the seed from 21 locations and it was impossible otherwise. So they turned around today.

There is no feasibility study
The lithium session itself must take place at Cnovec, in the Sedmihrky location. It will be deep. On the surface, an entrance to the mine with an area of approximately 22 hectares will be created, which will provide safety and technological service for the operation of the mine.
Drilling will be carried out in large chambers at a depth of 150 and 450 meters below the surface using explosives. EZ and Geomet are now preparing a so-called feasibility study for tb. It was supposed to be ready by the end of 2023, but it needs to be completely reworked. In Prunov, the processing pipeline should be located on the site of the former coal-fired power plant.
