People in Blovice thank the elementary school workers for rescuing the children from the burning bus

Blovice – The people of Blovice in the Plzeň Region thank the teacher and assistant of the elementary school, who on Tuesday, with their prompt reaction and balance, got the children from the burning bus unharmed. They express their thanks and appreciation to the teacher on social networks, and the management of the local town hall joined them. On Tuesday morning, buses from the Blovice elementary school went with children to the theater in Pilsen. Near Kotousov, one of the buses caught fire.

With quick and precise actions, the teacher ensured the rapid evacuation of the children from the burning bus and was able to prevent panic. Thanks to this, all passengers escaped without injury, writes the Plzeňská drbna server.

Firefighters received a report of the fire before 9:30 a.m. on Tuesday, the fire engulfed the bus in its entirety, professional firefighters from Nepomuk and volunteer units from Jarov and Blovice went out to put it out, fire department spokesman Petr Poncar said on Tuesday. Firefighters located the fire within 12 minutes of the arrival of the first unit. Police spokeswoman Dagmar Brožová added that 44 people were traveling in the bus, no one was injured.

“I thank the teacher and the assistant for their presence of mind, courage and professionalism, thanks to which they saved our daughter and the other children from the broken down bus,” one woman wrote on the Blovičáci Facebook group. “Super reaction, it saved a lot of children. It’s a matter of the first seconds when the flame peeks out, it goes very fast,” commented another contributor.

The teacher responded to the comments of the parents by praising the children. “We think it is appropriate to mention that without the cooperation and discipline of the children from both buses, it would have been much worse. We admire them for the way they controlled their emotions and managed the whole situation at their age. Thank you for a very professional approach to all the children to the participating rescue services,” said the teacher and assistant in the post.

“When the floor of the bus started to smoke a little, the children started shouting that something stinks in there. But they didn’t take it completely seriously at first. But the teacher sitting in the back was not lazy, she went to look there and realized that it was no joke. She immediately shouted at the driver to stop the bus immediately. And she ordered all the children to leave the bus,” the Plzeňská drbna quotes the father of one of the children on the bus. According to him, the teacher gave precise orders on how the children from the fifth grade should help the fourth graders out.

“When the first children started to run out, it was already smoking a lot from the engine part. The teacher pushed all the children out of the alley. This prevented panic. And then she ordered that one should run into the field and all the others behind him and as far away from the bus as possible, ” stated the father of a schoolgirl. According to him, the teacher returned to the burning bus and pulled out several forgotten backpacks.

“We thank her for how quickly she reacted and got the children out. As it was later found out from the fire department, there were only three minutes to evacuate before the whole thing started to burn inside,” added the schoolgirl’s father.
