A delicate problem is being solved at the Prague municipality. The pirate politician and assistant to councilor Adam Zábranský, also a politician of the Pirate Party, was supposed to reveal confidential information that would help the opposing party in the court case with Prague.

It is about Petr Beneš, a representative in Prague 10. Beneš is also the life partner of the Deputy Mayor of Prague, Jana Komrsková. Long before he started working in the dual role of partner and assistant, many Pirates wondered how Beneš had won the selection process to be Komrsková’s assistant by chance. Which, after a public revelation, ended the cooperation of both in the same office. Solomon’s solution consisted in the fact that Beneš moved just a little further, to Councilor Zábranský.
What exactly is the current dispute about? The capital city of Prague is suing the company Vinci Construction for millions of dollars, and the pirate assistant from the Beneš municipality is guilty of having disclosed important information to the opposing party related to the city’s tactics in this dispute. Beneš even participated as an assistant to councilor Zábranský in a meeting where the details of Prague’s procedure were discussed with the lawyer who represents the metropolis, and he was supposed to pass on the information about the tactics to the opposing lawyer.
This is confirmed by a non-public document addressed to the director of the Prague municipality, Martin Kubelko, who informs him about the disclosure of important circumstances by Petr Beneš. Its author is Jan Rak, director of the property management department.
In this internal communication, which is available to the editorial office of PL, the coordination meeting from April 17, i.e. last Wednesday, with the company Vinci Construction CS a.s., which was called by the pirate councilor Adam Zábranský and was also attended by his assistant Petr Beneš, is described.
“After the meeting, advisor Ing. “Petr Beneš contacted a representative of the law firm by phone with additional questions regarding the amount of unjustified enrichment requested and a possible counterargument by the capital city of Prague, which is being defended in the court proceedings,” the letter reads.
Subsequently, it is said that the employees of the municipality were confronted with details related to the court proceedings, including the planned procedure, by the lawyer who represents the private company.

“I understood from the discussion that this information was communicated to them by Ing. Petr Beneš, adviser to councilor Mgr. Adam Zábranský,” says the director of Rak in the letter.
In the final part of his message, he then describes what should have happened. “Actually, Petr Beneš: misused the information obtained internally and informed the opposing party of the court case about the tactics of the defense of the capital city of Prague (HMP), thus violating not only the obligation of confidentiality and the code of ethics, but in particular he favored the opposing party and at the same time acted in clear contradiction to the legitimate interests of the HMP in the aforementioned court proceedings, because by disclosing internal information about tactics to the opposing party and internal opinion on the whole matter, HMP has exposed itself to a situation where its position in the court proceedings could be weakened,” the letter states.
Sources of the editorial office from within the Prague municipality then indicate what could have led the pirate politicians to reveal sensitive information to the opposing party, which can significantly help them in court.
“It caused an uproar at the municipality, something like this has probably never happened before. It can damage Prague enormously. There are reports circulating here that the disclosure of information occurred primarily because of an internal struggle between the Prague Pirates. There are fights between them and in fact two wings, with deputy Zdeněk Hřib on one side and deputy Jana Komrsková, who lives with Beneš, on the other. They are cutting each other in the party and this could be the reason why the betrayal happened. A lot of people say that here,” stated several sources from the Prague municipality.
The name of the pirate assistant Petr Beneš is not unknown to readers. About a month ago, ParlamentníListy.cz wrote about him in connection with the harsh meeting of the council, which lasted all night and into the early hours of the morning. At that time, there were several incidents at the council when discussing the point of electing a new deputy mayor for the vacant position after Olga Koumarová, who resigned some time ago.
It is said that the opposition Pirates began to speak out saying that a woman should take the vacant seat again, because otherwise, for the first time in this century, Prague 10 will be led only by men and no woman will sit on the district council. The situation was about to escalate when the representative for TOP 09 Viktor Lojík went to the pirate representative and deputy mayor of Prague Jana Komrsková and told her something. By doing so, he allegedly violated her personal zone and moved her microphone. Subsequently, there was mutual pushing between Lojík and the pirate Petr Beneš, Komrsková’s partner.
“They started arguing with Lojík and he even told Beneš that, I quote literally, his mouth stinks. After which they started pushing each other again, there was also the threat of fists. Komrsková then called Lojík a pig, after which the deputy mayor Tomáš Pek declared the pirate Beneš to be a beast.” The pirate representative Beneš was also the subject of further council debates. Behind the back of the candidate for deputy mayor Čásenský, he photographed the screen of his mobile phone when he caught that the future deputy mayor was playing games. He then complained on his Facebook profile that the ruling coalition from Prague 10 called it a breach of letter secrecy.
