FORTUNA:LIGA finishes and each team is almost certain to participate in the individual groups of the extension part. The last round of the regular season will take place tomorrow, and before the continuation of the next part of the year, the Olomouc footballers will challenge Sparta Prague at home from 15:00. Fully sold out stands will be the driving force for them!
After three losses in a row, a boost came for Olomouc. First, they beat Jablonec at home and last weekend very surprisingly took a point for a draw against Slavia thanks to goals from Pokorný and Zifčák. The latter even netted the 1,600th goal of Hanák in the top competition. They thus moved to eighth place in the table with thirty-seven points. On Sunday, coach Saňák will be able to score for the third time in a row, however, he cannot use the injured trio of Růsek, Macík, Matys and, after an agreement with the clubs, also forward Fortelný.
Letenské are assured of first place in the regular season and will enter the title group with a lead of four points (currently they have 73 – editor’s note) over their second rival from Eden. They recorded only two defeats in the league for the entire season, and the last loss of a point was recorded at the beginning of April, when they drew with Mlada Boleslav. Sparta’s best gunners are Vejlko Birmančevič with thirteen goals and Lukáš Haraslín equaled Olomouc’s Lukáš Juliš with eleven hits.
After almost six years, the home stands will be full to capacity! The last time it was successful at Hané was when Sevilla came as part of the preliminary round of the Europa League. Defenders Juraj Chvátal, midfielder Jan Fortelný, Sigma’s top scorer Lukáš Juliš and coach Jiří Saňák all have experience from the Prague cabin. On the contrary, there is not a single player in the Spartan squad who has connected his career with the Blue and Whites. Finally, let’s remind you that Priske’s team won the last match at the end of July with a score of 2:0.
