Tragic Sunday at Sezemic. A young foreigner died in a black BMW

A car accident that happened early Sunday morning near Sezemic in Pardubice ended tragically.

Around 4:30 in the morning, firefighters from Pardubice went to a traffic accident involving a passenger vehicle near Sezemic. The BMW car crashed on the I/36 road at the exit from Sezemic towards Pardubice. “There was one vehicle off the road at the scene. The driver, who was given first aid, was already out of the car,” said Miroslav Polák, acting spokesman for the fire department.

The police are investigating the collision. “The 35-year-old foreigner apparently lost control and the vehicle hit a bollard, a road sign, a tree, and then the BMW flipped over the roof and ended up off the road,” police spokeswoman Markéta Janovská said about the accident.

An air ambulance helicopter was also called to the scene. However, it eventually returned empty. “The driver of the vehicle succumbed to his injuries on the spot,” added Polák.

The police are investigating how the tragic accident happened. “The circumstances and causes of the accident are the subject of an investigation, as well as whether the driver was under the influence of alcohol or drugs. That’s why the police ordered an autopsy,” added Janovská.
