Děčín’s basketball players reigned supreme in it, eventually beating Ústí Slunet 102:73 and leveling the series at 2:2. The fifth, very important duel, will be played on Saturday, May 11, on the Ústí pitch.

“Yesterday we bet everything on one card and it worked out for us. Our performance was bad today,” admitted Jan Šotnar, coach of Ústí nad Labem. The Warriors learned from a very dismal performance in the third battle. This time they dictated the tempo of the game from the start and never lost a single match.

“We went with more emphasis on the rebound and did not give Ústí second chances. These were important factors that led to our victory. Above all, we played at one hundred percent throughout the match, that was the deciding factor,” Tomáš Grepl, coach of BK ARMEX Děčín, was clear.
Děčín displayed their typical weapons, mainly in defense. Although Jan Karlovský soared in terms of points, Lamb Autrey was out of the game, scoring only two points. “Lamb played almost 40 minutes in that third game. After all, he is an older boy and now it was just obvious,” stated Šotnar.

Sluneta played the end of the match very dedicatedly. “You can see that the matches that were on the program the next day just didn’t work out for us. That’s why I’m glad that now the pace of the series will change. I believe it will suit us. Děčín showed great energy today, he wanted to beat us and overtake us. And he did it great. Unfortunately, we didn’t know how to react to it,” admitted the Ústí strategist.

The Děčín team thus took revenge on their viewers for the previous embarrassment in the best possible way. “We are always ready. The question is whether we can sell it on the pitch. In the third match, we tried some mischief, Ústí punished us for it. Now we didn’t go into bigger actions, we performed much better than in the third match. It is necessary to follow up on it on Saturday,” Grepl nodded his head.
The central hero of the Warriors was Matěj Svoboda, who loaded Sluneta’s account with 33 points! “I don’t care how many points I scored. The team score indicator is important. We clearly had the upper hand in it today,” smiled the Děčín hero.

He definitely had a lot to improve, he practically burned out in the third match. “We all had to make amends. Our performance in the third game was dismal, at times I was really ashamed of us. We knew we had to approach it differently, and we succeeded. It was perhaps the worst 24 hours of my life. I was nervous, we had a knife on our throats. We didn’t want Sluneta to win here for the second time and have a match ball. From the beginning, we went all out and went for the win. I am very happy for that,” added Matěj Svoboda.
