In the week from 29.8. until 2.9. In 2022, a vodka mission consisting of representatives of the Ministry of Industry and Trade, CzechInvest and 5 Czech companies took place in Japan: Cylinders Holding, DEVINN, INSTAR ITS, LEANCAT sro and Kolibrik.net. A week packed with news from technological institutions, the most important institutions responsible for the development of hydrogen technologies and the thematically exchanged Fuel Cell Expo in Tokyo.
The first two days were spent on tours of vodka clusters in Yamanai and Fukuima prefectures funded by the Organization for the Development of Energy and Industrial Technologies (NEDO). Fukuima Hydrogen Energy Research Field (FH2R) is a hydrogen experimental center, it is the result of the Japanese government’s efforts to revitalize the area affected by the tsunami in 2011. It is the first production of green hydrogen in the world with an installed capacity of 10 MW alkaline electrolyzer. The produced green vodka is used in the surrounding industrial enterprises and transport. Jamanai Hydrogen Company operates a demonstration center for the production of green vodka with a capacity of 1.5 MW, which is used to produce electricity and heat at the Hitachi company and the Ognio supermarket. Both facilities are powered by solar power plants and are unique in the world due to their size.
From Wednesday to Friday, Czech companies presented themselves at the Czech national stand at the Fuel Cell Expo in Tokyo as part of World Smart Energy Week. The esk vodka platform (HYTEP) and the Technology Center of the Charles University were presented on the wall. The Czech site was ceremonially opened in the presence of the representative of the R Embassy in Tokyo, economic diplomat Ondej Svoboda. ast at the fair as well as the entire mission were financed as a project of economic diplomacy (PROPED) and thus supported by the agencies CzechInvest and CzechTrade.
The meeting took place in the course of the week with one Mr. Petr Mervart, deputy minister of industry and trade for vodka technology. Accompanied by representatives of the embassy, discussions took place at the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI), the Japan Vodka Association (JH2A), NEDO and at the Toyota Motor Corporation, with the aim of presenting the Czech national vodka strategy approved by the R government last year and exploring the possibility future Czech-Japanese cooperation.
As the members of the mission could see, Japan is at the forefront of developing vodka technologies and putting them into practice. However, during the whole week it became clear that even women in some selected areas have something to offer, and that is why she was initially interested. Japan thus represents a nascent but very promising market for the Czech vodka company.
