In the 2nd quarter of 2022, the average gross monthly wage in the Central Bohemian Region was CZK 41,825, and compared to the same period last year, it increased by CZK 2,095 (by 5.3%). In terms of average wages, the region ranked second after the capital. city ​​of Prague and above the national average.


In Q2 2022 was, according to preliminary data, the average gross monthly nominal wage[1] (hereinafter only average wage) for the recalculated number of employees in the national economy in the Central Bohemian region was CZK 41,825, which was CZK 2,095 more (by 5.3%) compared to the same period of the previous year.

The year-on-year increase in the average wage in the region was higher than the national average by CZK 399 and by 0.9 percentage points. Wages grew in all regions. The Central Bohemian region recorded the 2nd highest absolute increase (CZK 2,095) and the 3rd highest relative increase (by 5.3%) among the regions. The average wage increased the most in absolute and relative terms in Hl. city ​​of Prague (by CZK 2,663, or 5.7%), the least in the Ústecký region (by CZK 592, or 1.6%).

The average gross monthly wage in the Central Bohemian Region was CZK 1,739 higher than the average wage in the entire Czech Republic (CZK 40,086) in the 2nd quarter of 2022, and was the second highest among the regions. The average wage in the Central Bohemia region was exceeded only by the wage in the capital. city ​​of Prague (49,221 CZK). At the opposite end of the ranking was the Karlovy Vary region with the lowest gross average wage (CZK 34,725).

[1] The average gross monthly salary is the share of salary resources (including overtime allowances, bonuses, wage compensation, etc.) per employee per month. Therefore, it does not indicate the salary of one specific employee. The results of structural earnings statistics, when data on the earnings of individual employees are available, indicate that roughly two-thirds of employees have a salary lower than the national average.
