The 8th year of the summer school on drug development started in Prague. It is intended for doctoral students and postdoctoral fellows from all over the world, the organizers are the Institute of Organic Chemistry and Biochemistry of the Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic, the University of Chemical Technology and the Israeli Weizmann Institute of Science.

The opening of the summer school called “Prague-Weizmann Summer School on Advances in Drug Discovery” was attended by Minister of Education Vladimír Balaš and Ambassador of Israel Anna Azari. The international event takes place alternately in Israel and the Czech Republic. “A sign of the quality and international importance of this summer school is the fact that the well-known Weizmann Institute of Sciences has joined us, with which we now alternate in the organization. It’s a great synergy that also applies to our joint research projects – we’re very good at chemistry, they’re world-class at biology. You cannot do without these expertises in the field of discovering new medicines,” said Prof. Jan Konvalinka, director of the Institute of Organic Chemistry and Biochemistry of the Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic.
