CLEAR: How to get out of debt during the Summer of Grace

On the other hand, what debts does the Summer of Mercy not apply to?
For other debts with private companies or for tax and administrative executions enforced by, for example, the customs or financial administration or the social security administration. You are also unlucky if you owe loans or mortgages to banks, mobile operators or rent to a private apartment owner.

The second round of the summer of grace for borrowers begins. It will last until the end of November

But some private companies still join the Summer of Mercy voluntarily, is it under the same conditions?
Some private companies also voluntarily joined the Summer of Mercy, for example banks such as Moneta Money Bank, Česká spořitelna, Komerční banka, ČSOB, Air Bank and Raiffeisenbank. However, it depends on them themselves what conditions for debt relief they set. It is therefore necessary to inquire about the details directly with the specific bank and follow its own instructions.

Who will benefit from the Summer of Mercy?
Especially for debtors who get rid of their debt after paying the principal (original debt) and the executor’s fee. This saves on the so-called accessories of the debt, i.e. additional fees and interest. The institutions to which the original owed amount is paid will also receive the owed money. The executors will also be reimbursed at least part of their costs – in the case of fruitless executions, they do not receive them at all.

What do I need to do if I want to get rid of debt during the Summer of Grace?
Pay off the entire so-called principal amount of the debt – i.e. the original amount owed. In addition, a fee of 1,815 crowns must be paid to the executor. After that, you will be freed from the entire debt and, in particular, you will no longer have to pay any additional interest and penalties or fees to lawyers, which in total are often much higher than the original amount owed.

How exactly should I proceed?
First of all, you need to tell the executor that you will use the offer of the Summer of Grace – you can do so in person, by e-mail or by registered letter. On this occasion, ask him to accurately calculate the principal owed and to announce the number of the account to which you should send the money. When sending money, put “Principal Payment – Graceful Summer” as well as your first and last name in the note. It is necessary to pay the entire amount owed, sending only part of the money owed is not enough.

How will I know that my debt is finally settled?
The executor will issue a decision confirming the repayment of your debts. This will waive your other fees and pay off the debt.

How long will the Summer of Mercy last?
It started on September 1st and will end on November 30th. The sum of 1,815 crowns must be credited to the executor’s account by this date at the latest.
