Regional councilors approved the distribution of the first 8 subsidies in the total amount of 8,656,471.51 crowns from the 2022 Water Management Action Program from the Water Protection Fund at today’s meeting. Selected municipalities will use the money, for example, to build sewers, extend water supply lines or build completely new water supply lines. The region is still preparing to approve support for another 8 applicants from the program of water management actions. Together, the total amount for 16 projects is over 19 million crowns.

“Through the Water Protection Fund, the Program of Water Management Actions 2022, the Liberec Region wants to annually support projects of small municipalities with up to 4,000 inhabitants, for which the construction of water management infrastructure means a large financial burden,” said Václav Židek, member of the regional council for the environment and agriculture department.

“Further water management actions will be financed by the region from the Turów Fund, which is intended to build infrastructure in Chrastava, Hrádecka and Frýdlant. It now contains exactly 861,040,098.72 crowns. We will deal with the first applications next year. The fund will support, for example, planned projects, such as the reconstruction of the water treatment plant in Machnín in the area closer to Hrádecka, the construction of a water feeder from Machnín to Uhelná, the increase in the capacity of the Chrastava reservoir Svatý Ján or the construction of water pipes between Hrádek nad Nisou and Václavice and from Chrastava to Horní Vítkov. added governor Martin Půta.
