Ústí Region – On Tuesday, September 6, 2022, police officers from the regional directorates of the Ústí Region, Karlovy Vary and Liberec Region continued the “IZS Czech Rowing League” project, the aim of which is to support rowing not only among young people, but also among the general public. But they didn’t only compete in sports, they also rowed for charitable reasons.
The event was jointly launched shortly after nine o’clock on Lidické náměstí in Ústí nad Labem by the Director of the Regional Police Directorate of the Ústí Region, Col. M.Sc. Jaromír Kníže, Director of the Regional Police Directorate of the Liberec Region, Col. Ing. Ondřej Musil and deputy director of the Karlovy Vary Police Regional Directorate for External Service, Col. M.Sc. Jiří Matouš.
Twenty-one four-member relay teams made up of police officers from the Ústí regional directorate and colleagues from the Karlovy Vary and Liberec regions competed in rowing machines not only to compete with other colleagues, but also with a charitable purpose. All the funds that the police officers, not only at this event, but also during previous competitions within our region, collected among themselves from the voluntary entry fee, will be handed over by a symbolic check to the Police and Firefighters Foundation after the end of the event. The handover will take place on September 17 in the Labe Arena in Račice as part of the IZS Czech Rowing Regatta on the occasion of the ceremonial opening of the World Rowing Championship 2022. The event was also favored by good weather, so all the police officers enjoyed participating in this sporting charity project.
