The SPD’s position on German reparations was published after Poland decided to officially give reparations to Germany for the Nazi occupation. This was announced last week by the head of the First and Justice (PiS) government party, Jaroslaw Kaczyski. Varava estimates that the codes caused by the Nazi regime at that time amount to 6.2 trillion zlotys (roughly 32 billion crowns). The German Ministry of Foreign Affairs reiterated that it considers the issue of reparations closed.

Poland’s demand, according to Okamura, shows the cowardice of many Czech government politicians, who have repeatedly claimed that the data on the castle of the general reparations is not in the first place and politically impossible.

The Nazi occupation caused the death of more than 360 thousand of our citizens and enormous economic and property losses. We have an obvious first year for Germany to pay us reparations, and we are obliged to do so as soon as possible and as a victim of the Nazi occupation, noted Okamura.

Slovakia was repaired in 306 billion years. According to Okamura, Germany has so far paid only 0.07 percent. However, according to two pieces of information, they were paid out of those percentages. Such a difference between claims and paid tax also arose in other countries, including Western European ones.

According to reasonable estimates and comparisons based on the development of the value of the currency and prices, Germany owes us a minimum of three trillion crowns, some estimates say around 15 trillion, said Okamura. According to him, the SPD has given Andrej Babio to the previous government, which it rejected, pointing out the strained relationship with Germany. This week, the SPD also wants to call on Prime Minister Petr Fiala to make efforts for reparations.

In response to a question from the editors of iDNES.cz, whether the SPD intends to give compensation for the 1968 invasion as well, Okamura replied: First, the Potsdam conference and the reparation conference in Pai recognized him for reparations. In this sense, Poland is proceeding, and I am convinced that the Czech Republic should, in accordance with international standards, request the payment of reparations, which Germany has given us a demonstrable debt. Uncle also filed for unpaid repairs.

According to him, the SPD does not agree to the same position regarding the Russian invasion in 1968, because the day of the international conference has not been recognized since forever.
