Group Saint-Gobain regularly participates in the global cleaning day, this autumn’s edition of the Clean Up Czechia event was once again financially supported. The group has long-term efforts to reduce its impact on the environment and actively supports sustainability not only with its solutions that reduce the energy consumption of buildings, but also by supporting ecological and volunteer activities to protect the environment.

Among such activities is participation in the event,,Let’s clean up the Czechia“, which the Saint-Gobain Group in the Czech Republic has been supporting financially and by organizing the clean-ups since 2017. This year’s edition (or World Cleaning Day – September 17) was supported by a financial donation of 150,000 CZK, the majority of companies representing 14 brands and more than 100 employees are registered.

“Through this partnership, we want to demonstrate to the general public our determination and our goals in the area of sustainability, which are not at all modest. The main one is to be carbon neutral by 2050. We will achieve this goal in gradual steps, we want to reduce CO emissions by 20252 by 20%, non-recycled waste by 50% and the amount of waste water by 80%. Five years later, in 2030, we want to achieve even more ambitious goals, based on long-term sustainability plans that include changing the energy mix, manufacturing innovations, consistent recycling, replacement of primary sources and other concrete measures,” added Jakub Benda, Saint-Gobain’s press spokesman in the Czech Republic and at the same time a regular participant in one of the cleanings.

The clean-ups will take place during September in selected locations where Saint-Gobain operates, i.e. in Prague, Hořovice, Český Brod, Litomyšl, Hodonice, Brno, Horní Počaple, Mstětice and Kozojedy.

“We are glad that large companies such as Saint-Gobain are participating in the Clean up the Czechia event, which is the second most active company in our country this year with seven organized cleaning events, and we look forward to continued cooperation in the following years.”says Radek Janoušek from the association Ukliďme Česko.
