According to Ryanair, the traffic controllers’ strikes should be dealt with by the European Commission.

Another strike by French air traffic controllers will complicate operations in European skies tomorrow. More than a thousand flights have been cancelled, complications may also occur with flights through French airspace. Connections from Prague will also be affected by the restriction.

Union air traffic control union SNCTA is on strike over uncertainty over high inflation compensation payments and insufficient staffing to ensure smooth operations. They want to strike again at the end of September.

Not everyone will go on strike. France’s civil aviation authority said around 1,000 flights would be cancelled. At the beginning of the week, the authority asked airlines to limit their operations on Friday. The largest French carrier – Air France – is canceling 55% of short-haul flights and about a tenth of long-haul flights.

Prague Airport said on Twitter that eight flights from Prague to France have been cancelled, but the situation may still change.

The largest European air carrier Ryanair has to cancel 420 flights tomorrow. These are mostly connections that only fly over France. According to Ryanair, it is impossible to explain to passengers that they have to cancel their plans due to another strike. He therefore called on the European Commission to deal with these strikes.
