/VIDEO, PHOTO GALLERY/ An exhibition in Prague Castle is devoted to the history and present of the highest state award, the Order of the White Lion. The Museum of the Order of the White Lion was opened there.

The exhibition was created to mark the 100th anniversary of the order’s existence – its awarding and form were determined by the government decree of December 7, 1922.

American General George Patton, Queen Elizabeth II, Soviet communist leader Mikhail Gorbachev or French President Francois Mitterand became bearers of one of the five classes.

This year, the order was bestowed, for example, on anti-Nazi resistance hero Josef Balabán or Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.
