Miraculously, a 32-year-old foreigner survived after being hit by a speeding car in Kuřimi, South Moravia, at the end of last year. The man climbed into the platform for cigarettes just as the train was approaching the platform. He didn’t hear him. The strong impact threw the stranger onto the platform, where he remained lying. The terrible accident was caught on camera.

Footage from the railway station in Kuřimi was published by the police on Friday. In this way, he wants to draw attention to the carelessness of people when moving in the railway yard.

The accident happened at the end of the year. “A young man got into the train path for reasons that are difficult to understand. Cigarettes must have fallen out between the sleepers, which is why he left the platform and went to the track. Despite the fact that he was not under the influence of alcohol or drugs, he did not notice the quietly and quickly approaching sets,” said police spokesman David Chaloupka.

The man saw the kit at the last moment. He couldn’t do anything anymore. The train caught him and threw him onto the platform.

The staff of the express train immediately started providing first aid to the man and called a paramedic to the scene of the accident. Investigators did not say how seriously the man was injured. They only said that “fortunately he survived the terrible-looking collision without tragic consequences”.

Last year, police officers in South Moravia dealt with 35 collisions between trains and people, of which six people died. Several people went to the dormitories voluntarily to end their lives, in eight cases it was carelessness or an attempt to shorten their journey through the dormitories.

“The police also focused on unauthorized entry to the railway tracks, who, for example, in Vyškov discovered nine offenders within an hour, who risked not only a fine, but above all their lives when crossing the tracks,” pointed out Chaloupka.

Two accidents from last week also resulted in the death of two people. On Friday evening, traffic on the main railway corridor from Prague to Česká Třebová was complicated. A woman died in Prague, another person was hit by a train near Kolín (we wrote here).
