“Dogstar performing with star Keanu Reeves on bass is a dream come true for me. We tried to invite the band back in the nineties, but we didn’t succeed then, and then they weren’t active for almost twenty years. We are all the more happy that it finally succeeded. The participation of Dogstar and Keanu Reeves at the Rock for People festival will certainly be an unforgettable experience for both music and film fans,” comments festival director Michal Thomes.
Dogstar was formed in 1991. They established themselves on the scene with music based on the then very popular grunge style, while today their work can be characterized as alternative rock. They released two albums before the hiatus that started in 2002.
They returned to the scene this year, with the new album Somewhere Between the Power Lines and Palm Trees. It was released at the beginning of October and contains twelve tracks. In addition to the Canadian Reeves, the band consists of singer and guitarist Bret Domrose and drummer Robert Mailhouse.
The Rock for People festival will take place from June 12 to 15, 2024 in the multifunctional Park 360 in Hradec Králové. Organizers have so far announced that it will feature Bring Me The Horizon, Avril Lavigne, Pendulum, Parkway Drive and more.
