Lidovky.cz: Has anti-Semitism been on the rise in Russia lately?
If we are talking about the mood in society, it is not clear how to eradicate the growth of anti-Semitism. Such surveys are not conducted regularly.
Lately, violent anti-Semitic incidents have practically not happened, we hear little about vandalism. Last year we recorded five such incidents. This year, if we don’t take only, then dn. Radical groups that could set fire to a building associated with Jews or at least paint something on it, especially Jewish objects, were not interested. I’ll make it more expensive if I don’t sleep for months (the situation changed after the Palestinian movement Hamas on January 7 and subsequent retaliatory actions by Israel, editor’s note).
Another problem is, of course, state or government propaganda, outside of which the Jewish theme constantly appears in connection with Ukraine. But this is not a specific first for the last time, it started in 2014. It is not an anti-Semitic message, but it usually leads to the instrumentalization of Jewish issues. I would say that this is behind the political element. Give it to everyone from top to bottom, starting with the president and finally the propagandists.
Lidovky.cz: Is it because Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyi is of Jewish origin? Or is it connected to him by someone else?
