This week, rescue workers went to the south of Bohemia to deal with a strange case. A parish priest from one of the villages there was supposed to lose his penis under still mysterious circumstances. According to his superiors, the man is now in the intensive care of doctors.
Components of the integrated rescue system intervened in one of the parishes in South Bohemia on Wednesday. The reason was the health condition of the priest, who, according to the newspaper Blesk, which drew attention to the case, was found by rescuers lying on the ground with an amputated penis.
The alarm in the village arose when the parish priest did not arrive at the scheduled meeting. “It was strange to us that he wasn’t answering the phone, so I dialed the emergency line,” the mayor of the village told the Novinky.cz website.
The editorial staff of TN.cz contacted the South Bohemian Rescue Service with a request for confirmation of this incident. However, her spokeswoman Petra Kafková did not want to comment on him too much. “I can only confirm that we went to that location on that day, but that’s all I can say,” she said.
“He is under the intensive care of doctors and is not able to communicate properly. So far we do not have an official opinion from the doctors or the authorities concerned who are dealing with the case,” his church superior, vicar general of the České Budějovice diocese, David Henzl, then added to the parish priest’s condition.
What exactly happened at the rectory remains a mystery. However, the police have ruled out third-party culpability and are therefore not looking into the case any further. Likewise, the fate of the allegedly amputated genital remains a mystery. According to the witnesses of the event, it was not possible to find him at the rectory. But the dog that lives with the priest was supposed to run around there.
