As soon as the phrase: “Hello, Mr. Driver, your documents, please” is heard during a roadside inspection, a mobile phone will be enough.
And in it the eDoklady application, i.e. “citizen on mobile”. Nothing more. The police officers will be obliged to accept it on the basis of the law currently being discussed by the deputies from the workshop of the cabinet of the deputy prime minister for digitization Ivan Bartoš (Pirates) from the middle of the year at the latest. “It is possible to use it during a police check even earlier, but it depends on the police. The police will obligatorily accept it from July,” Bartoš confirmed for the Lidovky.cz server.
Digitization will be voluntary, whoever wants to remain loyal to paper and plastic documents will be able to. The others can do without them, without the risk of a fine.
As of January, the obligation to carry a driver’s license and a small technician (vehicle registration certificate) with you in your car ends, police officers can verify both documents online based on the driver’s identification. In the same way, professional drivers will no longer be required to present a professional qualification certificate (if they do not have it as part of their driving licence).
