A Russian drone attack on the night of Sunday severely damaged a hotel in the southern Ukrainian city of Mykolaiv, the head of the administration of the region of the same name, Vitaly Kim, announced on the social network. The recreational facility caught fire, there are no reports of injuries or victims.

The Ukrainian Air Force said this morning that it had destroyed an Iranian-made Russian drone over the city. Air defense also intervened in the vicinity of the Ukrainian capital, Kyiv, in total Ukrainian forces reportedly hit nine Russian drones and missiles.

Reuters reported that, according to Russian media, occupation forces in Mykolaiv struck a shipyard and a hotel where “British mercenaries” were staying. According to the Russian Ministry of Defense, Russian systems destroyed 17 drones launched by the Ukrainian side over Russian territory. The attack was apparently aimed at oil and fuel storage facilities in the Kaluga region south of Moscow.

The ministry said nine drones were hit over Bryansk region, three over Kursk and two over Belgorod. Reuters added that Moscow rarely mentions the real consequences of the Ukrainian attacks. Kiev, which usually does not comment on operations on the territory of the Russian Federation, has been trying to attack Russian oil refineries in recent weeks. Russian occupation forces repeatedly target Ukrainian power plants, parts of the energy infrastructure or transport hubs.

Ukraine has been defending itself against armed Russian aggression for more than two years, reports from the warring parties usually cannot be verified from other sources.
