The incident happened on the night from Saturday to Sunday at the housing estate in Plešivecká street. According to available information, a man saw a pair of young men kicking parked cars, and therefore called the emergency line. “One young man was so aggressive during the arrest that we had to use coercive measures,” stated police spokesman Jiří Matzner.

However, after the incident, an acquaintance of the young people posted a video full of criticism on Facebook. “This is the approach of the state police in Česká Krumlov, and the city police is helping it. That three people kneel down a sixteen-year-old boy and beat him,” she was angry and wrote that such an approach was unacceptable.

The police officers registered the post and spoke out against its content on the official Facebook profile.

“With the article, we wanted to reject the false information that is being spread around this case. The intervention against the offender was standard. He didn’t listen to our calls to stop the illegal behavior, so we used gropes and grabs. There was no beating or violence,” Matzner emphasized.

The young man and his friend ended up in handcuffs. “We are further investigating whether the couple is also responsible for the damage to the vehicles from last weekend,” added Matzner and asked drivers or owners of damaged cars to call 158.
