“It is a true story of tens of thousands of children who grew up in children’s homes in communist Czechoslovakia. We tell it like a geyser of colorful memories full of colors, life and dreams,” says Viktor Tauš about his film.
He has been working on it for many years. One of the dates when it was supposed to premiere was May 30. It is now set for September 26.

“At first glance, there is nothing real about the film. And yet everything you see in the movie is real. All. Story. Characters. Scars. Everything is authentic. It’s not just the story of a girl defying her fate, but an emotional odyssey that celebrates the indomitability of the human spirit, the transformative power of hope and the desire for authentic happiness without the need for reassurance of a happy ending,” explained the director.

In addition to the striking visual aspect, one of the dominant features of the film will be music. The singer Annabelle, who sang the title track, described the collaboration with Tauš as a longer process: “I tried to create a modern girlish pop-punk, and Viktor Tauš and I kept tweaking it back and forth, because something still didn’t fit him. I tried to keep a pop expression and tuned my vocals. And he then described it brilliantly: I feel the ‘perfection’ in it, the neatness. But I don’t want you to censor yourself! I need to let that American girl LIVE for a while! So I opened a prosecco one night and recorded it in the biggest punk I could. She makes you laugh, sometimes slightly undertone, simply alive.’
From the actors’ faces, the audience can look forward to a number of prominent personalities of Czech-Slovak cinematography. Just by chance, the film will feature Pavla Beretová, Julie Šoucová, Klára Kitto, Lucie Žáčková, Klára Melíšková, Tomas Sean Pšenička, Magdaléna Borová, Vladimír Javorský, Zuzana Mauréry, Zuzana Kronerová… as well as 350 children, some of whom actually live in children’s homes .
