Insider claims that the upcoming return of the Tomb Raider series will bet on a full-fledged open world, which takes the player in the shoes of Lara Croft to India. The story is supposed to revolve around a natural disaster or cataclysmic event in the northern part of this state, which uncovered the ruins and artifacts of the ancient emperor Ashoka. Lara should compete with other treasure hunters for these rare artifacts.
The concept of a large open world is to be linked to various travel options. It is mentioned for example using a motorbike or a parachute. The game is also set to boast a new “non-lethal” mode of combat and the ability to recruit allies. The official unveiling should happen soon, with the actual release expected to take place in less than a year. If this is true, then the new Tomb Raider could show up at some of the upcoming June conferences. Amazon Game Studios is involved in the game as a publisher.
