The case surrounding the PC version of Helldivers 2 and the obligation to create a PlayStation account, which Sony has already withdrawn after criticism and refunds on Steam, has raised suspicions among some players whether the Japanese company will not require the same condition for its other games. The action adventure game Ghost of Tsushima, which is coming to PC already this month, came into the center of attention. The discussion on Twitter was sparked by a post by a user with the nickname https://twitter.com/arbal1stWeA/status/1786457121858695300who noted that he canceled his pre-order due to concerns about the presence of this obligation.

The developers of the game from Sucker Punch Productions responded to his message. They assured players that for playing the base game no PSN account needed. However, it should be noted that this only applies to the main single player mode. Conversely, the Legends co-op mode will require a PlayStation account.

Ghost of Tsushima will also be the first game on PC that will feature PlayStation trophies and the PlayStation overlay function. In order to access these functions, you can’t do without a PSN account either. Although we cannot expect as much criticism as in the case of Helldivers 2, there will undoubtedly be players who will be bothered by the need to create a PSN account to play multiplayer.
