If it weren’t for that evening in July 2006, when then 27-year-old porn actress Stormy Daniels first met 60-year-old developer Donald Trump, the former president of the United States would probably not be on trial today.
Daniels, whose real name is Stephanie Cliffords, described their meeting at a golf tournament in Nevada in very intimate detail in a New York court today. The statement about having sex with Donald Trump was watched by millions of American viewers live on all major news channels, which carried transcripts of her words along with commentary from lawyers and former Trump subordinates.
Stephanie Cliffords has not spoken about her relationship with Trump for the first time – she has given several television and newspaper interviews, written a book and appeared on entertainment shows. But for the first time, she spoke about him under oath, in front of Trump and under cross-examination by his lawyers. If anything he tells the court turns out to be untrue, it would be a crime.
And so the meeting, on which Trump, according to the indictment, spent over $400,000 to keep it secret, was discussed minute by minute in full view of the American and world public.
