Gazprom promises gas to Ukraine, but the failure of Nord Steam will not replace it

Gazprom switched gas supplies through the Nord Stream 1 pipeline in the center. He chalked it up to gossip that was supposed to end on Saturday morning. However, Gazprom said in April that the investigation carried out together with representatives of the German company Siemens Energy revealed that there was no oil in the Portovaya compressor station, so it was not possible to ensure safe operation.

Nord Stream will remain shut down, Gazprom will remain silent. Ukraine is going to help

Gazprom did not say how soon Nord Stream 1 could be restarted. Siemens Energy stated that defects of this type should not prevent the operation of the gas pipeline and the compressors of the Portovaja station and other turbines that can affect the operation of Nord Stream 1.

Russia transits gas from Ukraine to the EU through the Suda gas station, which is located near the border with Ukraine. Since May, Ukraine has delivered roughly one-tenth of the amount of Russian gas to the EU. Ukraine has decided that Gazprom will not be prevented from transiting Russian gas through the Sochranovka station, one of the two transit points on Ukrainian soil. It was compounded by the invasion of Russian troops.

The situation surrounding the supply of Russian gas became more complicated when Russia cut off the flow to Ukraine in November and the European Union imposed a series of anti-Russian sanctions in response.

In April, Moscow increased supplies through the Nord Stream 1 gas pipeline to 40 percent of capacity, and in April to 20 percent. She chalked it up to problems with gossip caused by sanctions. But the European Union claims that the technical problems are just a mention and that Moscow will use gas as a weapon to assert its interests. Nord Stream 1 runs along the bottom of the Baltic Sea to Germany and is the main route for transporting Russian gas to the EU.
