In the final, coach Tomáš Martiník’s team will face the winners of the duel between Sweden and Finland on Sunday from 16:00. So far, the best result of the Czech under-19 team was four 3rd places from 2010, 2014, 2018 and last year.
The Czechs opened the scoring at 5:11 thanks to Adriana Středulová. The Swiss, who dominated Group A without losing a point, responded in the 8th minute when Rahel Wyss scored from close range. After 64 seconds of the second period, Anja Wyssová turned the situation around. In the 27th minute, Karolína Mezerová equalized, directing Kristýna Lechnerová’s throw for Ella-Fee Greberová.
Anna Brucháčková put the Czech team in the lead for the second time at 45:28, who took advantage of a mistake in the Swiss passing game. In 88 seconds, however, Noelle Weisová responded and in the 50th minute, Dina Kochová used a power play to eliminate Karolína Janatková. Exactly three minutes before the end of the third period, Brucháčková erased the loss on the power play after a pass from 15-year-old Karolína Klubalová.
Only Maroszová and Lechnerová prevailed in the shootout, Monika Šolleová did not collect in any of the four raids.
