The incident was reported by the Ukrainian Telegram channel Ii Svoich, which published a statement from the NTV television channel addressed to Svtlan Petrenkov, the head of the media relations department of the Vyetova Committee of the Russian Federation. All security forces falling under the control of Ramzan Kadyrov are known in Ukraine as Kadyrovs. The 141st Light Motorized Regiment plays a special role in them, but it bears the name of Kadyrov’s father Akhmat. The unit has about 12,000 members and serves as the personal bodyguard of the EU president.

During the invasion of Ukraine, the Yenisei units suffered heavy losses, during the failed march to Kyiv, they lost five dozen tanks.
