Norwegian Casper Ruud criticized the schedule of the match on social networks even before Sinner’s resignation. “Well done ATP Tour, great way to help one of the best players in the world recover and be ready after finishing the previous match in 2:37. Fourteen and a half hours to recover. Maybe this is a joke,” he wrote on the X network.

Sinner, who won the title in Vienna after a three-hour final with Daniil Medvedev on Sunday, will now focus on the start at the Tournament of Champions. The prestigious event for the eight best players of the season will be hosted by Turin from mid-November.
