Pavel spent six minutes and 59 seconds on the ice against the Devils, scored one negative point in the plus/minus balance and won one of four face-offs. He was the first Czech debutant in this year’s NHL.
In the AHL this season, he played ten games for the Eagles and did not score. He started one game for the Avalanche in the preseason and scored in a 1-3 loss in Dallas.
In March, after three years at Minnesota State University in the NCAA as an undrafted free agent with the Avalanche, Pavel signed a two-year rookie contract and then a professional tryout contract with the Eagles. In the AHL last year, he played two duels in the regular season, in which he did not score. He had two assists in four playoff games.
The 2020 World Twenty20 participant collected 15 points (6+9) in 39 games last season for Minnesota State University. In total, he had 41 points (18+23) in 94 games for the Mavericks in three seasons.
Pavel went overseas from Sparta at the age of 16. At the 2020 Junior WC in Ostrava, he did not score in five matches, three years earlier he took part in winning silver in the 18 team at the Ivan Hlinka Memorial.
