The Saints of coach Jaroslav Berka faced off against the old team a year ago in the final of the World Championship in Zurich 3:9. The jubilee 100th game in the national team was played by defender Patrik Suchnek, who started for the first time since November 2019 and scored two goals in his return.
The entrance to the game was well received. After 131 seconds, Kevin Haglund opened the scoring after Jesper Sankell’s pass. In the 6th minute, both roles changed and Sankell made it 2:0. At about 7:44, they made their first breakthrough and Adam Hemerka saved from the backs.
In the 15th minute, Suchnek made it 2:2 with a fine shot from the lion’s side. In 126 seconds, however, Sakarias Ulriksson made a home run. In the 19th minute, Filip Forman cleared the ball in the penalty area, but a second before the end of the period, Filip Langer broke his stick and Ulriksson scored again for the home team.
After 29 seconds, Marek Bene responded after a Matje Havlas cross, and in the 25th minute, Filip Langer gave Berkv the lead. In the half of the game, they were happy at home thanks to Haglund, but in the 37th minute Forman scored again.
Hampus Ahrn equalized in a tight game, Matj Pnika scored in just 70 seconds, Suchnek scored again in the 50th minute in a penalty shootout, and Marek Bene made it 9:6 in 65 seconds after the home team’s goal.
Although Albin Sjgren was dreaming, 11 seconds later, captain Ondej Nmek was surprised by Marek Bene after a penalty kick by Leo Torella-Hagstrm. vdm again missed out after mistakes in the Czech defense by Sjgren, but Havlas and Ji Besta saved the Czech game.
