Raphael Dwamena, who represented Ghana in the past, died at the age of 28. During the Albanian League match, he collapsed right on the field and did not survive the transfer to the hospital.

Dwamena was the best scorer of this year’s Albanian league, but due to the tragic event, he will not add any more goals. The Ghanaian striker collapsed in the 24th minute of his team Egnatia’s match against Partizani.

The 28-year-old footballer fell to the ground and the referee immediately stopped the match and the other players ran to his aid. An ambulance arrived to take him to the hospital, but unfortunately he did not survive the transport.

Dwamena already collapsed in October 2021 when he defended the colors of Linz against Hartberg in the Austrian Cup, but he was able to recover from it.

The match, in which the score was 1:1, was not finished. After the tragic event, the remaining matches of the Albanian league this weekend will not be played either.

During his career, Dwamena played for FC Zurich, Levante or Denmark’s Vejle and also played eight games for the national team of Ghana and managed to score two national team goals.
