West Ham succeeded after a run of four league games in which they picked up just a point. He lost the previous three matches. Against Nottingham, he took the lead in the third minute when Paquetá took advantage of a mistake in the visitors’ play to score. Awoniyi equalized a minute before half-time.
In the 63rd minute, the guests even took the lead when Elanga finished off a nice team action. However, they did not enjoy the lead for long, after a precise pass from Ward-Prowse, Bowen made it through. Two minutes before the end, Ward-Prowse took a corner kick and Souček cheered the home fans with a precise header. Vladimír Coufal also played the entire match for West Ham.
Liverpool opened the scoring against Brentford with two disallowed goals from Nunez, but Salah opened the scoring after his pass six minutes before half-time. The Egyptian gunner made it 2-0 in the 62nd minute and Diogo Jota sealed the win twelve minutes later. Salah broke the 200-goal mark in England, where he also played for Chelsea in the past. At Anfield, he also scored in the sixth league game of the season.
Liverpool have moved within points of leaders Manchester City, who, however, have a better score and now play Chelsea. The “Reds” have the same points as third-placed Arsenal, but one goal better.
Aston Villa beat Fulham 3-1 to equal a 40-year-old club record of 13 consecutive home league wins. It is in fifth place in the table.
