Edmonton was one of the preseason favorites for the Stanley Cup, but the start of the year did not go well at all. They have lost 10 times out of 13 games so far and are second to last in the Western Conference with seven points.

Knoblauch will also make his coaching debut in an overseas competition in Edmonton. The 45-year-old coach will renew his cooperation with McDavid, who led the league’s reigning MVP among juniors.
For Edmonton, Knoblauch, with whom former famous defender Paul Coffey will join the team as an assistant, is the tenth coach in the last fifteen seasons. And the fifth since McDavid joined the team in 2015.
