Season number 21 awaits Fernanda Alonso. He does not lack motivation and had great results last year…

“2023 has been an incredible year for Aston Martin. Stages, celebrations, champagne, joy, motivation. Again… Every athlete needs a result to stay motivated. And 2023 was like a reset for me in terms of motivation and desire,” Alonso told DAZN.

“When I was with Alpine in 2022, I didn’t imagine that 2023 would be so positive in terms of results, podiums or the feeling of being competitive again. When I traded the Alpine for the Aston Martin, there were doubts. It wasn’t all clear.’

“With every change there are doubts, but I could already see before the season that the car is competitive, that it is very fast. And from that moment everything was much easier.’

“I don’t know if I’ll still have the smile from 2023 in 2024. You always need results. But it is clear to me that the team is motivated, hungry for victories. He is young, has enthusiasm and a different approach to racing. And this power of Aston Martin will probably also help me as a driver and as a person to stay more positive for 2024. I hope I can keep that smile.”

“I’m looking forward to 2024, but as I said it will depend a bit on the results. It’s true that with the results of 2023, with that energy and euphoria, you think you have superpowers… that you can ride your whole life and keep having fun. But I think 2024 will be a good year.”

“You can never promise results, but I feel good energy to keep improving with the Aston Martin team. It’s good for motorsport because F1 is getting more popular every year.”

“We have more and more young people watching the sport, the circuits are full, the calendar is record breaking and new countries want to join F1. It looks like everything is coming to a head and I don’t want to watch it from the couch.”

“I want to see it there… from the top. I saw my return to F1 as a good moment in terms of driving because I felt unfulfilled when I was at home. I wanted to be in F1. 2023 was a vindication of sorts, and I see myself in 2024 or 2025 with strength, zest, energy and optimism. The results always depend a bit on you and your opponents.”
