For the sixth time, the staff of the streaming platform Netflix mapped the backstage of the F1 championship, in order to then serve us the events behind the curtain in an entertaining, sometimes even slightly embellished form. As has become a tradition, the new ten-episode series will be released shortly before the start of the new year and maps the progress of the season just passed.
New line Drive to Survive will premiere February 23, 2024, i.e. in less than a month. It’s great timing for Formula 1 fans, as the three-day pre-season tests in Bahrain come to an end on the same day, with a week to go before the start of the first race weekend at the same venue. The ideal way to make the wait more pleasant.
Guenther Steiner, head of the Haas team, was the main star of most of the series due to his innovative humor and specific expression. Although he was fired a few days ago, in the sixth series of Desire for Victory, we will still see him in the role of team leader, albeit unfortunately for the last time.
Although Netflix is often criticized for bringing fans an overly contrived show, it cannot be denied that it has attracted a large young audience to the queen of motoring. Even the creators realize this: “Bringing so many new people to the sport is immensely satisfying. We love the whole process and hope it lasts as long as possible,” said executive producer James Gay-Rees, who also produced the excellent Senna documentary.
What will the new Drive to Survive series be about? Netflix has not yet revealed the titles and content of the individual episodes, but it can be assumed that they will once again focus on behind-the-scenes string-pulling and intense battles for positions, especially in the midfield. So put February 23 in your calendar, we’re looking forward to it!
