MMA | Another Czech in the UFC? Speculation is growing, the tough guy is hiding. Something is in the solution, he smiles

The hot news is reported by several sources on the social platform X, who agree that Humburger will head to the DWCS, where he should fight for his dream contract. The official thing hasn’t happened yet, confirmation didn’t even come from the mouth of the Czech fighter, who took part in the Fighters for veterans charity fight event on Monday, where he was not good enough for compatriot Jakub Klaud in boxing.

“I’m sorry, but I can’t say yet. There is something in the solution, but it is a question for my manager. I can’t answer because I don’t want to hurt myself and the organization. When it’s out, you’ll be the first to know,” he smiles.

If it really worked out, the 28-year-old fighter would become only the fourth Czech representative who went through the American show, where fighters usually secure a contract with the UFC with a win and an attractive performance. In the past, Michal Martínek, Matěj Peňáz and Tereza Bledá tried unsuccessfully for a contract. “Of course I would be tempted. The best of the best are in the UFC, and I think that’s not just my dream, but many other fighters’ dreams. And if they lead me there one day, I will certainly not resist,” says Humburger.

Other potential candidates for his services are said to be circling around the tattooed wounded man, who last navigated the waters of the Polish KSW, where he scored his first career defeat. “I’m glad there’s interest in me. It’s an honor for me and proof that I’m probably doing my job well,” says Humburger. “We are waiting for contracts and other things to be settled. We’ll see who offers us more and what the conditions will be. We will decide accordingly. We deal with, for example, 4-5 organizations, three of which are from abroad.”

The fact that, according to him, he is currently not contractually bound to any organization also plays into Humburger’s favor. “Contractually, I shouldn’t have it anywhere at all, I’m a freelancer. We’ll see who and what they offer. I would like to be clear as soon as possible. I need to have a goal and a direction in order to function and prepare,” he wishes.

Decision making will be difficult in the coming days, but one item is still being pushed to the sidelines from the perspective of an experienced fighter. “To tell the truth, I’ve never really cared about finances. It’s nice, but it’s more important for me to leave some kind of legacy because the names stay. There are many factors that affect this. And if an offer came from Contender, for example, that would be great. There are also interesting Czech organizations,” he states.

It must be added that he made a good name for himself in the Polish giant KSW. He succeeded in three out of the total four duels, most recently in the middle of the match he swept the local tough guy Adrian Dudek to the ground. Overall, he has a record of eight wins and one loss. Humburger does not yet know whether the mission will continue on Polish territory. “It’s a blast at KSW, I love the organization, but I’m not sure if the Poles will be as interested in me as the Czechs here,” he compares.
