Kuchta aligned his sights at the right time. Everything will be at stake in the derby with Slavia

--

There is no dispute that Sparta’s offensive trident is her crushing weapon. It doesn’t even have to work completely. When Haraslín’s form falters, Birmančević shines. Or Kuchta, who converted his chances in Slovakia in a really exclusive way.

“Ahead of Saturday’s much-anticipated derby with Prague “S”, nothing was resolved in the first round of the superstructure,” Jaromír Bosák summarized the news in the title group. The host of the Nosiči vody podcast described the fact that neither Sparta nor Slavia experienced any major complications in their matches with their opponents over the weekend. After all, Plzeň is like a mess.

According to Karel Tvaroh, the cards are still dealt the same way: “The Red and Whites must win on Saturday at Letná in order to maintain a real chance of winning the championship.”

Slavia loses four points in the table. In order to win the title, she must collect even five points more than her rival in the rest of the competition.

“Therefore, I expect that sooner or later the guests will have to push themselves in greater numbers into the attack. And that should be grist for the summer mill,” reflects the former Sparta player.

“If there’s someone you don’t want to play overly open football against at the moment, it’s undoubtedly Sparta today. Brian Priske’s team is really built for fast counter-attacks, which is proven even in the last matches,” adds Tvaroh.

Spartan Force Vs. yellow cards

The deadly offensive trio consisting of Veljko Birmančevič – Jan Kuchta – Lukáš Haraslín has been crushing one opponent after another in recent weeks. “Their productivity and efficiency are really high, basically unheard of in the country,” the Water Carriers unanimously agree.

The podcasters analyze in detail the reasons for the improved shooting form of Jan Kuchta, who flashed two goal lobs in Uherské Hradiště. They discussed how difficult Kuchta’s finishing method is and why he repeatedly manages to overcome the opponent’s defensive line with a lightning attack. And they ask themselves whether they will also defeat Slavia, their former employer, in the key duel of the season on Saturday.

One of the central themes of the latest episode of Water Bearers is the debate regarding the current set of rules regarding card penalties. Even in the season before last, the cards were erased after the 30th round. But now they keep piling up, so in the superstructure a really large number of players are at risk of punishment for the fourth or eighth yellow card in the season.

For example, as many as nine Spartans were in real danger of being “yellowed” before Saturday’s key derby. A number of Slavists were also in danger.

“Baník was not as dangerous at Slavia as he could have been, also because, when putting together the starting line-up, the fear that the key central players would not be eliminated before the match with Mlada Boleslav, which awaits him in a week, undoubtedly played a role in the mind of Pavel Hapal. And that will be a match for the European Cup,” says journalist Luděk Mádl on the topic.

“The Spartans and Slavists managed to avoid the fateful cards. But imagine the national uprising if around four or five players on one side or the other were missing because of the cards. At this stage of the season, there are already a lot of cards. If not this year, then in the future there is a risk that this phenomenon can have a very negative impact on key fights. And so I would plead for a return to the original setting, when the cards were deleted after the 30th round,” concludes Luděk Mádl.

In connection with the disciplinary offences, the Water Carriers are also debating whether the sinner Angelo Preciado will return to Sparta’s line-up, or whether coach Priske will again point to Tomáš Wiesner in the derby.

The water bearers will also stop in Leverkusen, where Adam Hložek started scoring, contributing one of the three assists to a goal for national team colleague Patrik Schick.

This time, in the podcast, there will be an unconventional probe to India, where a so far not very well-known Czech coach managed a truly extraordinary feat. The water carriers will explain what Petr Krátký has in common with Pep Guardiola.
