A five-year-old girl cried hysterically because of the responsibilities she will have to do as an adult. She realized that she would not be a princess when she grew up. Instead, she says, all the boring housework, like washing the dishes, awaits her.

Órla McEvity, from Erskine, Scotland, watched her mum clean the house. She asked her why she was doing this. When the twenty-five-year-old woman explained to her that adults have to do housework, the little girl cried.

In the video, Órla can be seen crying and insisting that she will not be happy when she grows up. Catherine’s mother said that at first her daughter asked her why she was cleaning. “I explained to her that when you grow up, you have to do housework, so she was horrified and realized that being an adult is no fun,” the girl’s mother described.

The girl then started to get upset. “She thought she was going to be a princess when she grew up and not do chores. I laughed inwardly, it was funny that a five-year-old could worry about such things,” Catherine said.

The girl’s mother explained that her daughter often exaggerates. “Orla is a very dramatic child. This one she felt like she was dying, all because I asked her to clean her room. Another time she collapsed and said she would never use her legs again. Then she asked if there was a way , how to stop leg growth,” explained the twenty-five-year-old Scot.

Catherine finally reassured her daughter. “I told her that being an adult can be fun. Not really, but sometimes you have to tell a merciful lie,” said the girl’s mother, adding that she will save the video and play it for her daughter’s eighteenth birthday.
