The Slovenians quickly secured the first place in the group B table against France. Doni’s 47 points is not only the current EuroBasket record – it was held by Janis Adetokunba’s 41 points – but also the second best scoring performance at the EC of all time. Only the Belgian Eddy Terrace was better, in 1957 Albania scored 63 points.
Doniv’s performance also stands out because he scored 36 points against Germany in the late hours of the third quarter. Bhem 24 hours managed 83 points. Against the silver darkness of the Tokyo Olympics, he had 23 shots from the field, converting 15 of them. Six triples helped him. At the end of the first game (he had 27 points on his account), he took a blow to the head and ran to the board.
Luka Doni vs France:
The Dallas Mavericks power forward played 39 minutes in the center, and managed seven rebounds and five assists. Goran Dragi followed him with 14 points, when he played a big role in the end. Center Mike Tobey, who has an ankle injury, is out.
France was led by Rudy Gobert with 19 points, Evan Fournier managed 15 points and Thomas Heurtel 10 points plus 10 assists. Guerschon Yabusele didn’t miss a beat.
The Lithuanians started the tournament with three losses, but on Tuesday they defeated the weakest team in the group, Hungary, and now they won the final match against Bosnia and Herzegovina. Thus, they avoided the threat of a historic failure, or they were never eliminated in the groups. The second quarter was decided by the favorite 28:14.

The Bosnian team, which surprised with a loss over Slovenia, was not helped by the 22 points of Danan Musa, the best scorer of the game, Jusuf Nurki secured 15 points. In the Lithuanian darkness, Marius Grigonis scored 16 points, Jonas Valaniunas recorded a double double for 13 points and 15 rebounds, adding five assists.
panl fulfilled their role and dominated Group A in Tbilisi. The battle with Turkey brought them the fourth loss out of five matches, the result 72:69 announces a balanced, but not a pretty match.
Willy Hernangmez, the pivotman of the team, became the man of salvation, he hid six of his 15 points in the last six minutes, and supplemented them with seven rebounds. Lorenzo Brown added 11 points and seven assists.
The Turks failed to score 20 points represented by Cedi Osman, Furkan Korkmaz added 16 points and Alperen Sengn 14 points and 12 rebounds.
Belgium also won promotion after an 89:80 victory over Bulgaria. Former Nymburk forward Retin Obasohan added 25 points and was the best Belgian scorer.
