Ubisoft officially announces Assassin’s Creed Mirage

On Tuesday, we wrote about the leak regarding the new Assassin’s Creed, which was first reported by Jason Schreier earlier this year. Back then it was codenamed “Rift”, but according to a new report it is to be subtitled “Mirage”. It didn’t take long and we don’t even have to consider this information unofficial. The game was announced by Ubisoft itself.

This happened on Twitter through a simple message that the next installment in the Assassin’s Creed series will be Mirage. We should learn more at the upcoming Ubisoft Forward event, which will take place on September 10 at 21:00 our time.

According to unofficial information, the game should be set in Baghdad and we have to play as Basim, who already appeared in Valhalla. Allegedly, it will be a return to the roots of the entire series, which means more linearity and the removal of some RPG elements. We’ll see if this information turns out to be true.
