Dedicated Remembrance Fixture
Saturday’s match is our closest home game to Remembrance Sunday and will be our chance to honor those who gave the greatest sacrifice.
Representatives of both football clubs will lay wreaths in the center circle ahead of kick-off, it will then be followed by a period of silence that will end with the playing of The Last Post.
Supporters who wish to be involved in the remembrance service are asked to take their seats by 2:50pm.
Ex-service personnel will be in attendance in the Staffordshire University Fan Zone collecting donations for the Royal British Legion.
The itinerary of the service can be found below:
2.53pm – Referee leads players of both clubs onto the field. Players will do their normal ‘pass-by’ of each other and then proceed to the center circle and form up. The remembrance the party will then take to the field carrying wreaths and head to the far side of the center circle, facing the Lorne Street stand.
2.55pm –For the Fallen (Recording by Rev Ashley Cooper):
They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old:
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning
We will remember them.
