Ještěd and Harrachov will become more expensive
The biggest novelty, but also a slight increase in price. That’s what awaits skiers on Ještěda this year. They can buy ski passes cheaper online in advance. On the spot on the day of skiing, however, they will pay up to 1,050 crowns for them. Prices are about 5 percent higher than last winter. However, the area will offer more tracks.
“We decided to do our best to basically open the Pláně slope, which has been out of service for some time now. That’s the slope on the other side of the hill,” said Radek Chalupa, director of the complex. Skiing will also become more expensive in Harrachov in the Krkonoše Mountains by roughly 5 percent, confirmed Vlastislav Fejkl from the resort there.
Bedřichov, Hrabětice and Špičák
The promoter of the largest Jizera mountain areas in Tanvaldské Špčák, Hrabětice and Bedřichov has good news for skiers. Prices will not increase in any of them.
“We have a new machine for preparing the slopes in Bedřichov, and then there is the Tanvaldský színák, where we actually have a blue tourist slope with new snowmaking, there are twenty-five new showers, an automatic system that can turn on completely by itself according to the climatic conditions set in that computer, ” Petr Bažant from the company SKI Bižu, which operates the Jizera Mountains resorts, described the news.
According to the Association of Mountain Resorts, roughly two-thirds of domestic resorts will remain at last year’s prices. Others will be only slightly more expensive, or even cheaper. In addition to investing in snowmaking, this year the centers also focused on sustainability and savings. This was stated by the director of the Libor Knot association. Domestic ski areas invested over a billion crowns in modernization and energy savings this year.
